Su Jok and Acupressure
|
The inventor of So Jok is Professor Park Jae Woo, an eminent scholar of Oriental medicine, has combined his ideas obtained from a long period of clinical practice and scientific knowledge. He is the innovator who has discovered and systematised the independent curing systems of miniature body correspondence in the hands and feet.
As mentioned, the remarkable feature of Su Jok is astonishing simplicity. The only thing is that the corresponding nerve points as per Su Jok and the actual affected area should match on each and every occasion. After a little practice your fingers move automatically to the corresponding point and bingo,
you can start applying the pressure.

After a particular time of working at one's own skills, it takes a few seconds to identify the problematic point. In fact having tried a number of experiments, I have seen that SuJok therapy is accurate and effective. And if a health problem is of recent origin, say a stomach ache, pain due to a recent accident, sprain etc.
Su Jok gives virtually instant relief. Where spinal chord and other chronic problems are concerned, SuJok, if done religiously, certainly gives relief. It seems very likely too that if both basic SuJok and the advanced version i.e acupressure and acupuncture are combined miracles take place

Basic SU JOK
The human body is classified into the trunk as its center
and the five appendages to the trunk.
The fact that the hand has five fingers attached to the palm
gives it a strong resemblance to the body.

The Body Su Jok Points
The trunk : Palm
The head and Neck : Thumb
Two hands : Index finger and the Little finger
Two feet : Middle finger and the Ring finger
Front body : Palm
Back Body : Back of the hand
As mentioned, the remarkable feature of Su Jok is astonishing simplicity. The only thing is that the corresponding nerve points as per Su Jok and the actual affected area should match on each and every occasion. After a little practice your fingers move automatically to the corresponding point and you can start applying the pressure.
Correspondence

As the arms have the wrist, elbow and shoulder, the legs have the ankle, knee and the hip,
similarly the fingers, which are corresponding points in Su Jok, have three joints.
So where Su Jok points are concerned, till the wrist, is the tip of the outer fingers, from the wrist to the elbow it will be the middle of the finger (between the first and the third joint/line of the finger) and the shoulder will be the last part of the finger, that attaches the fingers to the palm. Similarly the two sections of the neck and head can be easily associated with the two joints of the thumb.
The top part of the thumb just near the nail being the head, till the first joint of the thumb corresponding to the face and the second joint corresponding to the throat. The back of the thumb correspondence to the back of the head and the second joint correspondence to the neck.
SU JOK - The Two Dimensional System
Physical Dimension: Either fingers or a pointed object is used to identify the corresponding point
of the body and then massage that point till relief is achieved. Thus fingers, pointed and
rounded object, metallic rings, magnetic stars, seed etc. are used. This is more of
acupressure than acupuncture. This system can be practiced by virtually
anybody as it requires no major skill or instrument.
Metaphysical Dimension: This systems makes use of Byol meridians. This form of treatment applies the experience and theories of classical acupuncture correlating them with the new theories of Su Jok
such as Six Ki (Energy) Constitution; Emotional Constitution and their treatment formula to treat
the Byol Meridians and Byol Points. This method of Su Jok requires professional training
and mainly is used by professional Su Jok physicians.
