TRIORIGIN CLASSIFICATION OF TWIST MOTIONS
The following twist motions are applied in twist therapy: in-twist, out-twist, left twist, right twist, upper spiral twist, and lower spiral twist. In-twist means twisting some body part, for example, an arm or leg, inward relative to the body centre. Twisting a body part outward is called out-twist. Left twist is twisting leftward, and right twist is twisting rightward (Fig. 6). The notions of in-twist/outtwist, and left-right twist are all applicable to the extremities. For example, an out-twist of the left arm upper-left-back or upper-right-back direction. Lower spiral twist means twisting movements in the lowerleft- front or lower-right-front directions.

From the Triorigin viewpoint, left twist and outtwist possess Hetero properties, while right twist and in-twist possess Homo properties. Spiral twist in four directions has Neutro characteristics, and natural twist motions performed smoothly, easily, without muscular effort are Neuto. The majority of twist motions, which we make daily, are natural twist. Spin twist motions belong to the sphere of Infinite Neuto.
Twist methods used for prevention and treatment of diseases can also be classified according to the Triorigin model. There are fixed, elastic, moving, natural, and combined twist methods. The therapeutic effect of fixed twist is obtained by the body keeping one twist posture or another for some time. energy net of the body.
Many yoga asanas are fixed twist positions that activate certain target parts of the spiral In applying elastic twist therapy, the affected body part makes a sharp twisting movement in the direction opposite to the one producing a painful response. The patient can perform this movement both on his own or assisted by the doctor.
Moving twist is a preventive or therapeutic twist motion of a body part with a simultaneous performance of bending-stretching motions.
Natural twist is naturally performed by every person. In case of unpleasant sensations in some body part, we unconsciously begin to stretch or twist it. If these spontaneous natural movements are performed with purpose and system, they yield a better therapeutic effect, and are called the natural twist method in twist therapy. The method of combined twist permits to obtain the effect by successive combination of fixed, elastic, and moving twist methods.
In the Triorigin classification of twist therapy methods, elastic twist belongs to the Hetero category. It is applied in cases when a powerful Hetero effort is required to overcome a persistent or chronic (Homo) pathological process in the patient’s body. Fixed twist has Homo properties.
This method yields the best results in Hetero disorders, when the patient’s state should be stabilised. Moving twist, as a Neutro method, is effective in any disorders. Natural twist belongs to the Neuto category. The most perfect and universal therapeutic method would be combined twist as Infinite Neuto. |
