Dr. E.M. Tirskaya, M.D., Su Jok Academy faculty member

Male: age 47.

Diagnosis: Diffuse toxic goitre II-III stage. Moderate thyrotoxicosis. Diffuse osteochondrosis, deforming spondylosis, astheno-depressive syndrome.

Complaints of irritability, impaired attention, memory, superficial sleep, easy fatigue, sweat. Is troubled by heartbeat, higher BP, headaches in the parietal region, dizziness. Reports of aching, diffuse pains, feeling of constraint and stiffness in the spine, and girdle pains in the thoracic cavity radiating to the sternum, clavicle.

Subfebrility in the afternoon, nocturnal sweat. Unstable non-formed stools, sometimes gingival haemorrhage. In the blood, decreased thyroid stimulating hormone (TSG), and increased tetraiodothyronine (T4).

On examination: thin, subcutaneous fat undeveloped, sharply marked paleness of lips, exophthalmos, lowsightedness (myopia).

Based on the complaints, past medical history and examination it was stated that at the level of individual energies the most pronounced manifestations refer to the energies of AH-Heat and AH-Wind.

The excess energy of AH-Heat is related to the patient's basic disease - hyperthyroidism - when absorption of iodine in the small intestine is enhanced. Excess AH-Heat in the patient is manifest as higher blood pressure and post-sleep sweat. So UM-Heat energy is in the deficient state: clinically, this is manifest as heartbeat and asthenia.

Irritability, bursts of anger, arms tremor, parietal headaches (pathway area of the gall bladder meridian), dizziness, impaired attention, thinness are indicative of excess AH-Wind energy.

Such symptoms as a sense of fatigue after meals, unstable non-formed stools, decreased turgor of tissues and paleness of lips can be assessed as dominating branch Dryness energy and deficient branch energies of Heat and Humidity in the structure of individual UM-Humidity energy.

So Six Energies treatment on byol-chakras and byol-meridians was aimed at:

1) Sedation of the energies of AH-Wind (by the antisubjugation function) and AH-Wind (by the subjugation function) at the level of individual energies (Fig. 1).

2) At the level of branch energies in the structure of UM-Humidity energy the branch energies of Humidity and Heat were tonified by the subjugation method.

3) Also, energy flow therapy was applied on the long byol-meridians: sedation of the byol-meridian of the spinal cord/gall bladder (Shao-Yang) (Fig. 2).

The course of treatment consisted of 15 sessions.

This treatment resulted in normalisation of TSG and T4 hormone indices. The patient's emotional state improved considerably: irritability subsided, moods were higher, sleep became deeper. The patient gained on weight. No troubling heartbeat, blood pressure within norm, spinal pains decreased.
