Dr. Suresh B.Achrya (M.D.), India

Female patient, age 35. Migraine

She presented with the history of left-side headache - a periodic condition recurring every other day as migraine for 18 years. By recognizing that her constitution is that of AH-Hotness, she was provided treatment including: sedation of AH-Humidity and tonification of AH-Coldness (fig. 1).

Furthermore, there was applied therapy based on sedation of Heat and tonification of Coldness within the framework of the AH-Heat meridian (fig. 2).

The treatment went on for one week. Thereupon her condition showed a significant improvement. The painful symptoms were arrested and never returned for the past five years. I applied the constitution-oriented approach of therapy in over 150 migraine patients. My method was one of Su Jok-based technique - always keeping in view the patients' constitution characteristics.

Dr. Punam M.Pever, India

Male patient, age 42. Peripheral paralysis of the facial nerve

He complained of peripheral paralysis of the facial nerve (Bell's palsy) that developed secondary to a neurosurgical operation involving a brain tumor. The patient experienced such a condition for four months. Acupuncture therapy was provided in the zone corresponding to the facial nerve (following the principle of standard system and that of the "insect" to be found in the right hand) (fig. 1).

The treatment took 10 days. His face became essentially symmetrical. His general condition was good, and persisted uneventful for as many as five years.

Dr. A.A.Smailova (M.D.), Russia

Female patient, age 22. Headache

She was suffering from severe cramp-like headache, and clouding of consciousness of short duration. Her condition came up secondary to her giving birth to a child and lasted for a period of one month. At first the attacks began at 2 p.m., but within the recent week they occurred 2-3 times a day. After seeing the neuropathologist and the physician no pathology was detected. Her diagnosis was rather ambiguous.

As the timing of the headache attacks was based on the period of the greater activity in the small intestine meridian, which fell on 2 p.m., and, moreover, as the disorder was provoked by the childbirth (uterus is controlled by the spinal cord meridian), it is quite possible that the problem of the patient was conditioned by the excessiveness of the spinal cord and small intestine meridians.

The spinal cord and small intestine meridians were sedated, and the large intestine meridian tonified by means of energy flow therapy method (fig. 1).

After two sessions the attacks were arrested. The third session was performed with a view of consolidating the effect. Four months have clasped since then; the patient feels her disease has gone.

V.A.Paikina, Moscow

Male patient, age 32. Headache.

My son phoned me at night and said that he had an unbearable headache, as if the head were going to burst.

I decided to try to arrest it putting 3 needles into the brain correspondence area on the thumb and imagining that it was my son's hand. In 35 minutes, the pain in the correspondence points on the thumb could not be felt even when the needles received additional twisting. I took off the needles, they came out freely, and a large drop of blood appeared. Then I started massaging the thumb's tip, squeezing the blood out until it stopped dribbling (Fig. 1).

At that time my son called again and said that the headache was over and he was very sleepy.

Edeltraud Eide, Skarholmen, Sweden

Women, age 68. Ischias.

The patient had gone through several treatments like physiotherapy and naprapathy but without improvement. She came for the treatment limping, her body twisted. She was given one needle on the painful point in the main correspondence system in the region of the lower back (Fig. 1).

Afterwards she could walk straight and felt warmth in her leg. She felt very tired and slept more than usual during the night. When she woke up, she felt no pain, just some uneasiness in the leg. On the second day she was given another needle with the same reaction. During the third session she received the last needle and since then she has had no pain.

Bo Engborg, Stockholm, Sweden

Male, age 37.

The patient suffered from a headache that had lasted for two days. No previous history of headaches. The patient said it seemed to be coming from the neck. Palpation of the neck gave proof of two severely aching points on both sides of the spine. Placement of yellow magnet stars on the corresponding points (main correspondence system). The headache disappeared within ten minutes (Fig. 1).

I.Corral, Spain

Patient A.: age 64.Diagnosis: facial paralysis and hypoacusis.

The patient suffering from herpes zoster suddenly developed the symptoms of paralysis of the facial nerve on the right side and decrease of hearing. She had used Su Jok methods before and so she came to ask if I could help her.

In the "insect" system and minisystem the tender areas corresponding to the affected regions were located and stimulated with needles (Fig. 1).

Fig. 1. Treatment of facial paralysis and hypoacusis in the "insect" system (1) and mini-system (2)

Two sessions were enough for facial sensibility to show signs of restoration. The patient's state was normal after a 14-day treatment and she could return to work. Until now, neither herpes, nor other foregoing symptoms have been troubling her.

M.V.Kharchenkova, physician, Moscow

Female: age 67.

Came to the Su Jok clinic with complaints of a severe headache in the occipital region. Having performed muscle diagnostics, I discovered excessiveness of the bladder meridian. Sedation of the bladder byol-meridian with magnets produced no improvement in the patient's condition, but she reacted well to tonification of the kidney byol-meridian. However the improvement was not stable. This made me think of an energy blocking between the bladder and kidneys channels, and I decided to carry out treatment by AH-UM pair. I placed a north-pole magnet on the bladder byol-meridian, and a south-pole magnet on the kidney byol-meridian (Fig. 1).

Fig. 1. Treatment by AH-UM pair of bladder-kidney byol-meridians in headaches

Within five minutes the patient reported of considerable improvement of ther condition. The magnets were left for two hours. On the following day, the patient came to my surgery without headache.

M.V.Kharchenkova, physician, Moscow

Patient - myself. On my way to a lecture on Su Jok therapy I had a sudden attack of sharp headache in the frontal region and superciliary arches. I seldom have this kind of pain but it can be stopped with great difficulty (several tablets of no-spa and baralgin). Temptation to take medication was very great. However, I decided to check the effectiveness of Su Jok therapy. Working on byol-meridians didn't change my condition essentially, the pain went from one region of the head to another but didn't subside completely. Then I took the risk of carrying out bloodletting from a thumb (Fig. 1).

Fig. 1. Bloodletting from a thumb in a headache

Immediately after bloodletting there began intensive pulsation in the distal phalanx of the thumb and there appeared a feeling as if the pain from the head were flowing into the thumb. Within 15 to 20 minutes I felt incredible relief, there was no trace of pain.

Dr. K.G.Shor, physician, Moscow

Female: age 32. Diagnosis: left-sided migraine.

Complaints of frequent (1 to 2 times weekly), prolonged (up to 24 hours) attacks of intense headaches in the left half of the head, sometimes accompanied by vomiting.

Earlier she was given classical acupuncture - with an insignificant effect, which is partly accounted for by the patient's negative attitude towards the painful and unpleasant procedure. She was also taking a lot of painkilling drugs.

In treatment, I used needle application for 40 minutes into the sensitive points corresponding to the left half of the head, to the cervical spine and gall bladder (the gall bladder meridian is regionally connected with this problem) in the standard systems of the hands and feet for ten days (Fig. 1), application of magnet stars and seeds.

The patient had a check examination two months after treatment - she reported of no pains.
